Gaylon is a graduate of the University of Redlands, with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business and Management (located in Redlands, Calif.).
His career spanned 27 years as a professional fundraiser; retiring after 11 years with Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas as a director of fundraising. Trinity was founded in 1869 by the Presbyterian Church.
As a professional fundraising executive, his work involved: major giving, special events, annual giving, estate and planned giving; with a strong ability to cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with donors and volunteers.
Gaylon also worked with San Jose State University, Sisters of Mercy Healthcare, and Eisenhower Medical Center that includes: Betty Ford Center, Annenberg Educational Center, and Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center, and Hospital in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
Before his fundraising career Gaylon was involved in the wine business in Calif. for many years; working for Sebastiani Vineyard and Winery as western regional manager for marketing and sales. Previously he owned several wine and liquor retail businesses.
Gaylon and his wife Maureen retired in 2012 to Hilton Head Plantation. They are currently members of First Presbyterian Church of Hilton Head Island (HHI).
